Celebrant Services

What is a Certified Funeral Celebrant?

A Funeral Celebrant is a person trained and certified to meet the needs of families during their time of loss.

A Celebrant serves by relieving the stress, and difficulty a family is facing by providing a funeral service that is personalized to reflect the personality, life and legacy of the deceased.

What Does a Certified Celebrant Offer a Grieving Family?

A Celebrant is specifically trained to design and customize a service for your loved one that is completely personal, incorporating unique stories, songs and experiences that defined the life of your loved one.

A Celebrant will schedule a Family Time meeting so relatives and friends can share personal anecdotes and special memorable moments from the life of your loved one.  Remembrances of family members will be lovingly incorporated to comprise the essence of the service so it is customized for each unique family in honour of their beloved.

A Celebrant will consult with you to help design a service that best reflects and memorializes the life of your loved one.

Services vary as widely as each family is unique, and  may include:

  • A traditional funeral service

  • A memorial service

  • A graveside service

  • A memorial anniversary

  • A scattering service

  • A memorial dedication

  • A living funeral

A Celebrant will spend approximately 10 hours preparing your customized service with the intention of  providing you with the most memorable service possible, following the professional values of integrity, compassion and sensitivity.

*The training for Celebrants established by the In-Sight Institute seeks to provide the most comprehensive and sensitive training available. It is important that you and your family know that you are being served by someone who understands the process and is prepared to offer the very best service possible.
